Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Dance*, the Two Year and Four Year Pre-Professional Programs are generally geared for high school age dancers; however, 8th grade students may be accepted if shown to possess adequate training and maturity.
Students completing the full two or four years receive a Diploma of completion indicating they have successfully finished the accredited program. A student with Nutmeg for a shorter duration is eligible for a Certificate indicating his/her participation in the program.

Like our Two and Four Year programs, the Two Year Post-Graduate Program is fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Dance* and students successfully completing the two years are awarded a Diploma. This program offers students additional technical and performance training in a performance-oriented student company prior to auditioning for a professional company or college dance program. While many Nutmeg students who participate and graduate from our Two and Four year programs elect to stay for another year or two as a Post-Grad, a student need not attend our high school age residency programs in order to attend the Post-Grad Program.
Post-grad students, having completed high school, have the opportunity to design an individual program of study during morning hours at The Nutmeg. Students have enrolled in college courses; found employment in the area; designed fitness regimens that have included the local YMCA and area yoga and Pilates studios; and, when available, completed work/study tasks at The Nutmeg. Additionally, the post-grad students are used, at the discretion of the artistic faculty, in various community performances.
